We inspire students to become informed, invested citizens of a global community through meaningful travel in nations recovering from war. Our travelers learn the history and culture of their host nation while supporting sustainable organizations through patronage and service-learning.
Experience the Whole: taste urban buzz, interview survivors of war, trek through tropical jungle, volunteer with cluster-bomb victims, climb ancient temples, build a children’s playground, explore spiritual traditions, boat to floating markets, take salsa dancing lessons with activists, artists and local heroes.
Every day on our itineraries is a discovery of beautiful nations once-dismissed as “the enemy.”
Let’s be honest: you’ll be amazed. We believe staying in comfortable, western-style accommodations, eating high-quality food, and taking time for quiet reflection will support you best on this journey.
Our trips are an immersive experiential survey course in the history and modern culture of the place. We provide a unique insider’s look at the people’s journey from war to peace. Dynamic travel itinerary and daily activities complement a pre-departure online curriculum which meets California State Standards in the Social Sciences.
Our partnerships with local, sustainable organizations abroad provide a unique experience for student travelers: We concretize abstract concepts of diplomacy, fair trade, and global stability through service-learning projects emphasizing social entrepreneurship.
Students return from their Friendship Tour as more ethically attuned, confident, and knowledgeable citizens at home and abroad.
