Committed to experiential learning through travel, Friendship Tours World Travel is a small operation of teachers and students, who understand the needs of educational touring abroad. Our entire team has traveled extensively on our itineraries so that we know firsthand the people, places and providers your child’s group encounters overseas. Students are chaperoned by teachers and lead by intelligent, English-speaking, local guides in comfort and safety. On our tours students are not mere “tourists,” but rather engaged in a well-organized cultural immersion program, facilitating learning through tangible experience, discussion, reflection and community service. Intelligent Itineraries

Students enjoy the excitement of international adventure in a safe and comfortable setting. Our handcrafted itineraries are built with corresponding California state standard curricula that ensure daily learning outcomes for each destination and activity. Whether students are climbing the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, crawling through Vietnam’s famous Cu Chi Tunnels, trekking through Thailand’s dense jungles, visiting the mosaic Pagodas of Laos or practicing the enchanting leg-rowing art of the Burmese fisherman along Inle Lake—each experience offers an unique lesson of understanding and immersion into the native culture of the place. We are dedicated to bringing education outside the classroom, providing students with a learning experience that reaches far beyond textbook paragraphs.

Community Service

Each of our itineraries includes a customized community service project, ensuring that we actively participate with and give back to the locals on our overseas excursion. We are partnered with various in-country organizations, such as Cambodia Living Arts and Friendship Village Vietnam, where students volunteer from teaching English to planting organic gardens leaving a lasting and positive impact long after the tour is complete. We are committed to the creation of global citizenship, forging cross-cultural connections and friendships through hands-on learning.

Commitment to Safety

Student safety is our top priority at Friendship Tours World Travel. We use only four and five star hotels and extensively researched home stay options, maintaining student comfort and safety throughout our adventure. Students are supervised at all times and we take no chances with food and water, dining only at the finest restaurants and never drinking from the tap. Our extensive in-country network coupled with the in-depth knowledge of our local guides allows us to take necessary and on-sight precautions. Each tour is also equipped with first aid kits and a quality in-country medical-professional staff on call. Teacher-chaperones are provided with international cell phones and students have Internet access at most of our accommodations so parents are kept in-touch and updated at every leg of our journey.
